Assistant Commissioner Stacey Maloney described the alleged offenders' approach: "They would approach the victims after they had finished shopping and returned to their car. The two men have been charged with a total of 144 offences, including fraud, theft, and entering a vehicle without consent. What's more, they had only been in Australia on tourist visas for a short period, raising questions about their true intentions.
