The Rise of 23XI Racing: Challenging NASCAR's Established Powerhouses
In the world of NASCAR, the 'Big Three' - Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing, and Team Penske - have reigned supreme for most of the 21st century. But here's where it gets interesting: with Tyler Reddick's unprecedented start to the season, winning the first three races, could we be witnessing the birth of a 'Big Four'?
Jordan Bianchi from The Athletic certainly thinks so. He's in awe of 23XI Racing's rapid ascent over the past six seasons, believing they've earned their place among the elite.
"I had a chat with Denny Hamlin after the Atlanta race, and I asked, 'Should we be talking about the Big Four now?' Denny had a point about regular race wins and championships being the true measure, but we can't ignore the incredible progress 23XI has made in a short time," Bianchi explained on The Teardown. "Bubba Wallace's Brickyard 400 win last year, followed by the Daytona 500 victory, and a road course win - these achievements speak volumes.
And let's not forget Tyler Reddick's regular season championship in 2024. They're consistently stacking up wins and accomplishments. This team is on a roll, and while they might not quite match Hendrick or Gibbs yet, they're certainly closing the gap."
23XI Racing's journey began in 2021, and in just three years, they've celebrated a regular season championship with Reddick and his No. 45 team. Despite Reddick's winless 2025, Wallace's historic Brickyard win and Reddick's recent Daytona triumph have kept the momentum going.
With Reddick and Wallace leading the points standings after three races, the question arises: Are they NASCAR's new powerhouse? While opinions may vary, one thing's for sure - 23XI Racing is a force to be reckoned with, and their impact on the sport is undeniable.
And this is the part most people miss: the story of an underdog rising to challenge the established order. What do you think? Is 23XI Racing the future of NASCAR's elite? Let's discuss in the comments!
